US tier-two operator Leap Wireless announced a net loss of US$58.4 million in the quarter to 30 June 2011, compared with a prior-year loss of US$19.3 million, on revenue of US$760.5 million, up from US$667.3 million. Its subscriber base increased to 5.75 million from 5.29 million.  The company is planning to deploy LTE across approximately two-thirds of its current network footprint over the next two-to-three years, with a commercial trial market set for launch late in 2011.
