The MeeGo-powered Nokia N9 will be available in the UK sometime in the next two weeks

The Nokia N9 will be available in the UK through Expansys sometime in the next two weeks, Know Your Mobile has learned.

That’s right. Nokia’s MeeGo-powered handset is coming to the UK after all, despite Nokia recently affirming that the device would not get an official UK release.

We spoke to an Expansys member of staff, who told us that the Nokia N9 should be landing in the UK ‘within the next two weeks.’ The handset is listed as ‘coming soon’ on the site itself and users can sign-up for pre-orders now.

Whilst it’s good news for the UK, the rest of Europe isn’t looking so lucky. Reports this morning confirm that Nokia has pulled the N9 from sale in Germany.

The N9 is the first – and only – MeeGo handset that Nokia will produce. It’s been receiving lots of praise since it launched but Nokia’s clear distain for the handset and indeed the platform has become increasing evident as more and more countries have been removed from the release list.

At present there’s no word on pricing but seeing as the Nokia N9 is looking likely to be something of an Expansys exclusive, we guess it can probably charge whatever the hell it wants – and who could blame them?

As far as we know there’s no plans for Nokia to release the handset in the UK with any networks. This means that if you do want a Nokia N9 handset, you’ll have to pay the full SIM-free price for the device, which is likely to be in excess of £400.

Expect pricing for the Nokia N9 to appear in the next week or so.
