class=’ ‘>Samsung confirms it’s behind Google Nexus Prime
Samsung has leaked that it is indeed the company charged with manufacturing Google’s Android Ice Cream Sandwich-powered Nexus Prime handset

It’s official: Samsung is building Google’s Android Ice Cream Sandwich-powered Nexus Prime handset.
The device, which we’ve been hearing lots about of late, is expected to land sometime in Q4 of 2011 – potentially October – and possess some serious hardware. And by serious we mean a 1.5GHz dual core CPU, 720p Super AMOLED HD display and masses of internal storage.
Of course, nothing has been officially confirmed by Google at yet, but the company has gone on record to say that a new Nexus phone will launch alongside Android Ice Cream Sandwich.
The news comes via Geek.com, which reports that Samsung’s very own legal team inadvertently confirmed the Nexus Prime whilst ‘attempting to squash a rumoured leak of the firmware for Samsung’s upcoming wonderphone.’ It doesn’t get much more official than that.
You have to appreciate the irony of what happened. After all, it’s not every day that we’re treated to leaked information from inside a phone company’s legal team.
Samsung designed and manufactured Google’s last smartphone, the Gingerbread-powered Google Nexus S, which was easily one of the finest handsets of 2011.
So when we heard that Samsung was rumoured to be doing the Nexus Prime a few months back, we were pretty chuffed. And now it’s official, we’re just counting down the days until Google roles out its latest and greatest Pure-Android smartphone.
As we said earlier, there’s no release date for the Google Nexus Prime just yet. But Google said at its I/O 2011 event that it’d launch alongside Android Ice Cream, which is scheduled to launch in the autumn.
Not long now.
